What You Will Do:

As a Facilities Helper, you will play an essential role within our Anchorage Facilities department, reporting to the Facilities & Security Manager. Under general supervision, the Facilities Helper provides support for the engineering facilities department. This position works under general supervision of the Facilities Manager. Responsibilities vary as needed through the job functions listed below. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Site checks and PM's.
  • Record rack elevations at microwave sites.
  • Record tower layouts for Kenai area sites.
  • Inventory material at Wik Rd and K Beach microwave site.
  • Snow clearing at sites.
  • Escort contractors at Communications Sites
  • Coordinate site meets for contractors.
  • Document and inventory sites as required by Facilities Department.
  • Develop snow removal plan for Wik Rd.
  • Lock replacement at Reg Stations and Comm Sites due to corrosion.
  • Scoping package with photos for building repairs at K Beach Microwave site.
  • Escort LMR radio contractors and Tower contractors.
  • Escort contractors and POC when climbing on ENSTAR Towers (ENSTAR Comm/Facilities Dept person must be there per policy).

What You Will Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a drug, background, credit, past employment, and driving record screening.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with individuals within and outside of ENSTAR.
  • Ability to learn and understand ENSTAR's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as they relate to fieldwork.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
  • Knowledge/familiarity of local road system.
  • Legible handwriting and ability to accurately complete detailed paperwork.
