Amentum is currently seeking an X-Ray Scanner Clerk to support our contract in Springfield, VA. 

Must be a US citizen, must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Primary duties:

• Preparing incoming mail for distribution and processes outgoing mail.

• Distribute and collect mail, determine and affix postage and maintain records on postage, registered mail and packages without direct supervision.  

Additional duties:

• Complying with and supporting established procedures to encompass inbound and outbound mail processing, including unclassified and classified mail up to and including TS/SCI and using proper handling procedures for all classified mail in addition to overseeing pickup and delivery schedules.  

 Scanner Duties:

• Scan all incoming outgoing media, including visual media up to 75 pounds in weight, for viruses and perform a “dirty word” search to ensure that no classified material inadvertently exits the Scanning Facility.

• Must operate X-ray scanning equipment, mail containment hood ops (mail sniffers) and mail and letter opening equipment.

• Open and inspect all mail using the containment hoods then close and attached an inspection sticker.

• Willingness to accept risk: Although a remote possibility, must be willing to accept the risk of Chemical Biological Warfare (CBW) contact during mail handling.
