Job Description

Position Type: Full-Time

The Yard Material Handler is responsible for receiving, issuing, and maintaining inventory of stock and non-stock materials. This role supports operational efficiency by accurately processing requests, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely receipt and distribution of parts and materials. The position also includes resolving discrepancies and maintaining proper documentation for all warehouse transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•    Receives and processes requests for parts, materials, and services. 

•    Retrieves and issues materials from the warehouse in an accurate and timely manner. 

•    Maintains and updates records for stock and non-stock inventory items. 

•    Performs cycle counts and investigates/resolves inventory discrepancies and match exceptions. 

•    Orders and restocks inventory, ensuring proper placement within designated bin locations. 

•    Accurately processes receipts, ensuring correct quantities, values, and documentation. 

•    Monitors and replenishes consumables to maintain adequate inventory levels. 

•    Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•    Makes deliveries to designated locations across company facilities as needed. 

•    Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

PERFORMANCE FACTORS / COMPETENCIES:

To perform the essential functions of this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

•    Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and facility layout.

•    Ability to safely operate a forklift (or willingness to become certified).

•    Proficiency in computer systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) preferred.

•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and inventory management.

•    Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments, vendors, and team members to fulfill requests efficiently.

•    Flexibility to work varying shifts or hours as needed.

REQUIRED TRAINING, EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

•    High School diploma or GED required

•    Annual refresher training

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Physical & Mental Requirements:

•    Frequent walking, standing, and occasional sitting.

•    Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials (approximately 25–60 pounds lifting; 5–25 pounds pushing/pulling).

•    Frequent bending, stooping, and use of both hands.

•    Regular use of a computer and keyboard.

•    Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, steel-toed boots, and hard hats. 

•    Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail.

•    Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

•    Capable of handling multiple priorities and adapting to changing demands.

•    Demonstrates patience, professionalism, and effective communication when working with others.

Rotating Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off | 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) | Days, Nights & Weekends
