Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood or Special Education Teacher to join our team, focusing on early intervention for children aged birth to 2 years old. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting the developmental needs of young children with disabilities and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each child.

- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.

- Conduct assessments to monitor children's progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.

- Provide direct instruction and support in various developmental areas, including communication, social skills, and motor skills.

- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families regarding their child's development.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education; Master's degree preferred.

- Valid teaching certification/licensed in Early Childhood Education or Special Education (Birth-2yrs old)

- Experience working with infants and toddlers with disabilities is highly desirable.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with families and team members.

- Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in special education.

- Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

We focus on empowering children and their families, guiding them through the critical first years of life. What We Do We provide comprehensive early intervention services designed to meet the developmental needs of children from birth to age three. These services are tailored to each child’s unique needs and are provided at no direct cost to families, as they are funded by New York State and the county. Our Early Intervention Services Include: Evaluations and Assessments: Comprehensive developmental evaluations to identify specific needs. Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) Development: Collaborative plan development that outlines services, goals, and strategies tailored to each child. Speech-Language Therapy: Techniques and interventions to improve communication skills. Physical Therapy: Support for physical development, strength, and coordination. Occupational Therapy: Assistance with fine motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living activities. Special Instruction: Educational services focusing on cognitive, social, and emotional development. Family Training and Counseling: Educational resources and support for families to effectively contribute to their child’s progress. Nutrition Services: Guidance on dietary needs to support overall health and development. Social Work Services: Support to address social or emotional concerns and connect families with community resources. Vision Services: Assessment and interventions for children with visual impairments.
