What You’ll be Doing:

A Summer Internship is directly supervised by a Project Supervisor, a Project Coordinator and/or a Project Manager while learning balancing procedures, techniques and technician responsibilities.

  • Strengthen fundamental math skills through real-world applications in the field.
  • Assist in preparing mechanical drawings (including color‑coding and numbering) for field data sheets.
  • Convert mechanical drawings into accurate, organized field data sheets.
  • Learn to read construction plans and identify HVAC equipment across project sites.
  • Gain hands‑on experience with industry instrumentation, including proper care and usage.
  • Maintain all instruments and documentation securely and in compliance with project standards.
  • Ensure instrumentation is prepared, calibrated, and ready for daily tasks; proactively support project teams.
  • Collect and accurately record HVAC equipment data, such as nameplate information, pressures, and temperatures.
  • Learn how to mark traverse hole locations and set proper Pitot tube spacing.
  • Develop a working understanding of traverse calculations.
  • Build foundational skills in air and water balancing procedures.
  • Follow direction and guidance from Project Supervisors, Coordinators, and Project Managers.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of safety requirements and follow all safety protocols on each task.
  • Collaborate closely with field leadership to support productive, efficient operations while upholding EAB’s quality standards.

 Qualifications

  • Education: 
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Pursuing a college degree.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Desire to learn.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
