Position Title: Receive/Stock Clerk Position Code: ClrkRecStk-8100

Department: Materials Management Safety Sensitive: Yes

Reports to: Director, Materials Management Exempt Status: No

Position Purpose:

The Receive/Stock Clerk provides tasks of a routine but varied nature in support of the Materials Management Department.

Key Responsibilities [List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position]

Receives and inspects all items prior to storage; compares items received to purchase orders with respect to description and determines actual quantity; after inspection, stores items in assigned locations in warehouse or processes for distribution; prepares appropriate items for shipment and coordinates with various external carriers. Restocks Nursing supply carts to PAR levels as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications [Statements regarding minimum educational and experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, computer proficiencies, military service, required certifications, etc.]

Experience: Familiarity with receiving procedures and forms (invoices, purchases orders, bills of lading and freight bills).

Skills/Knowledge: General knowledge of receiving procedures; general computer skills.

Preferences [Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e., multi-lingual, master’s degree)]

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure: Forklift Operator’s License

Skills/Knowledge: ability to operate a forklift. 

Special Position Requirements [Optional section: any travel, security, risk, hazard or related special conditions which apply to the position]

Category III blood borne disease exposure.

Work Requirements [Optional section: work requirements for physical or other important issues which relate to the job]

Ability to routinely climb ladder, work well with hands, demonstrating consistent manual dexterity; able to bend and stoop frequently; ability to routinely walk for a majority of the work shift and consistently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a routine basis; ability to routinely move (by pushing and/or pulling) pieces of equipment on wheels weighing up to 150 pounds.
