The primary purpose of the Activities Coordinator is to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating group and individual meaningful life activities in order to meet residents' psychosocial, physical and cognitive leisure/recreational needs.

What will I do as an Activities Coordinator?

  • Assists in the evaluation of residents' needs and interests to develop an individualized plan of care with the input of the resident and neighborhood team.
  • Work with the neighborhood team to ensure completion of the necessary paperwork to reserve/request transportation, money, rooms, food, and beverage, volunteers, etc.
  • Complete documentation of resident participation; provides information needed to develop MDS's, progress notes and care plans efficiently per Morningstar Senior Living guidelines.
  • Creates innovative opportunities to enlist the aid and support of community organizations, youth groups, and other groups of individuals.

What do I need to be an Activities Coordinator?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one years' experience involving activity related engagement, preferably in senior living.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, every other weekend and holidays.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
