 nanoComposix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis, develops innovative nanomaterials for research and commercial markets. We manufacture hundreds of different variants of metal and metal-oxide core/shell nanocomposites for a wide range of applications including biosensors, medical devices, clinical diagnostics, and optical effects. Our mission is to help our clients bring nano-enabled products to market. We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Lab Associate II (Production Chemist) for a full-time, onsite position in San Diego, CA.

What You Will Do:

  • Fabricate select nanoComposix catalog and semi-custom products with high reproducibility 
  • Manufacture products following synthesis SOP’s
  • With manager input, prioritize synthesis tasks to minimize back-orders and communicate status of production to team members and management
  • Meticulously document production into electronic notebooks and forms associated with NCX quality system
  • Discuss and analyze work with co-workers and managers to ensure adherence to NCX standard product SOPs and production of quality products
  • Schedule routine maintenance and calibration of select analytical equipment
  • Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement by actively participating in the quality processes within the company and the Quality Management System
  • Contribute to the team through pursuit of common goals, clear communication, inspiring teamwork, and working effectively with others
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying inefficiencies in current process
  • Work with manager and co-workers to complete additional assigned tasks as needed

Who You Are & What You Bring

Education / Background

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or life sciences

Experience

  • 1+ year of laboratory experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Advanced laboratory skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs
  • Ability to work in both office and laboratory settings, and with chemicals and compressed gases

What We Offer

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $24.00-$28.00/hour
