Description

Cates Control Systems is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Materials Clerk to join our growing team in Wylie, TX. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment, enjoys staying organized, and takes pride in supporting production operations with accuracy and efficiency.

This position plays a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly by managing inventory, supporting production teams, and transporting materials between our Wylie and Plano facilities. Job Purpose: 

The Materials Clerk is responsible for maintaining organized inventory and warehouse operations while supporting production needs and ensuring timely movement of materials throughout the company. This position will also operate a company vehicle periodically to transport materials between our Wylie and Plano, TX offices.

Candidates with prior warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience are encouraged to apply. Forklift experience is required, and CDL experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain clean, organized, and accurate inventory, receiving, and WIP (Work in Progress) areas 

· Pull, issue, and stage parts and materials for production jobs 

· Support production technicians with material requests and inventory needs 

· Receive, inspect, verify, and accurately process incoming shipments 

· Ensure all inventory transactions are completed correctly within the ERP system 

· Store incoming materials in correct inventory locations and job bins 

· Tag and organize project materials by job number 

· Prepare outgoing sales orders, pull line items, and print packing slips 

· Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortages 

· Process returned materials back into stock or coordinate supplier returns 

· Conduct weekly cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy 

· Safely operate a forklift to move materials throughout the warehouse 

· Drive a company truck periodically between the Wylie and Plano offices to transport parts, materials, and equipment 

· Assist with general warehouse upkeep, including trash and recycling removal 

· Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
 

Measurements:

· Accurate inventory levels and counts maintained

· Accurate Put-Away of materials 

· Production tasks acknowledged and completed 

· Safe and reliable transportation of materials between facilities

Education and Experience: 

· High school diploma or GED equivalent 

· 1+ year of warehouse, inventory, materials, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing support experience preferred 

· Valid driver’s license with clean driving record 

· Forklift operating experience required 

· Ability to safely drive a company truck between office locations 

· Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly 

· Comfortable standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and handling materials throughout the workday
