Job Description

Sewer Equipment is currently seeking applicants for an Engineering Internship position at our Dixon, IL manufacturing facility.

Description

  • Use of mechanical design software to create complete, organized, and detailed drawings of parts, weldments, and assemblies.
  • Identify a variety of structural, plumbing, and electrical parts and compare against a bill of materials. 
  • Create and execute Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) that fully document and instruct action items to be taken using Management of Change system.
  • Support the manufacturing, troubleshooting and testing of machines as required.
  • Manage multiple projects at a time from beginning to end.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design or related field from an accredited institution or be working toward the completion thereof.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and create mechanical designs.
  • Proficiency in using 2D and 3D CAD design software. Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk Vault preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate clearly mechanical concepts and designs.
  • Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized.
  • Must be able to work in fast paced environment to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong knowledge of material and manufacturing processes.
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and assembly shop floor environment. Employees may be requested to travel on rare occasions to assist with any number of functions related to the company. While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts.

This is a part-time hourly position where the hours will be during the times of Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
