Job Description

Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatry

We are a fast growing & vibrant group practice that provides psychiatric services in assisted living & long-term care facilities throughout NY & NJ. Our well-respected group has been providing services for 14 years and currently has 35 NP's on the team. The NP's are supported by our 2 psychiatrists.  Experienced clinicians can have relative autonomy if you are comfortable with the patients & geriatric psychopharmacology. New employees / new graduates have tremendous support by our clinical staff and rounding & collaboration directly w/our senior clinical staff. Need to discuss a case or get advice on how to deal w/a difficult patient, family, or facility staff? You can call our doctors directly and get the assistance & support that you need. We are collaborators in real life, not just on paper.

Position Overview

We focus on psychiatric medication management and supportive psychotherapy. Your role would be to complete initial evaluations & follow up visits onsite at the facilities that we take care of. We generally treat depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders, and dementia w/behavioral issues. You would have a tremendous amount of support from the medical staff, with direct collaboration on any case that you needed assistance or additional input on. As I mentioned, you will have extensive clinical support (direct collaboration) but also administrative support - so you can focus on patient care.

We have streamlined & efficient documentation, real time administrative support, and we leverage technology to make everyone's workflow efficient.  This position is perfect for someone who is motivated, self-directed, and prefers not to sit in the same office day after day. You will be working as part of a team, interacting with the primary care physicians, other NP / PA's, psychology, nursing, and families.

 Requirements:

  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey NP License
  • PMHNP needed based on state
  • DEA registration (or eligibility)
  • Experience or strong interest in geriatric psychiatry, long-term care, or consult-liaison psychiatry

  • Effective oral and written communication in English
  • Basic proficiency with technology, including electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to provide in-person services at assigned facilities, up to 45 minutes.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move between patient rooms and offices within the facility throughout the day.
  • Full Vaccination and Booster Status may be required in some facilities.

What We Provide:

  • Full-Time Opportunities, Salaried with productivity bonus, $145,000-$210,000 (based on experience)
  • Part-Time Opportunities paid per patient. If you are efficient, you should expect to earn $115/$120 per hour.
  • Rewarding experiences
  • Medical, Dental, Vision,
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • Malpractice Insurance Provided
  • Generous PTO

The position is very low stress, relative to some other positions in behavioral health care. There is also some degree of flexibility in terms of hours. You will not be expected to take formal call (beyond reasonable availability to other team members if a clinical question arises). At the present time, there is no on call rounding or overnight phone calls, etc (subject to change).
