The Opportunity

Canning Filler General Labor

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties:

• Packing/processing of canned products in a timely and safe manner, maintaining highest quality standard.
• Communicates with Can Processing Operator/Lead on any quality or safety concerns.
• Assist Can Processing Operator/Lead in controlling product quality, contamination, weight control and line efficiency.
• Completes general cleaning of production areas during changeovers
• Perform all sanitation duties needed at the line
• All other duties as assigned

SAFETY

• Attend safety trainings
• Follow all safety instructions and policies
• Report any injuries or near miss accidents to supervisor
• Report any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor
• Wear required PPE that is determined by site

ENVIRONMENTAL

• Keep work area clean and free of debris

FOOD SAFETY

• Maintain all sanitation schedules
• Attend food safety trainings
• Follow all GMPs and food safety instructions
• Report food safety non-conformances to supervisor

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• General mathematical ability
• Self-motivation
• Learning, memorizing and executing a sequence of procedures
• Basic computer skills
• Good hand – eye coordination
• Willing and able to get along with others
• Good judgement and reasoning abilities

PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS

• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Continuous standing and walking
• Continuous bending, stooping, carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling
• Occasional climbing and reaching above shoulder level
• Occasionally squatting
