Safety Specialist

We are a growing commercial roofing company seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Specialist to help lead and maintain a strong safety culture across our job sites. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, reducing workplace incidents, and supporting field teams through training, inspections, and continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine job site safety inspections and audits
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Lead safety orientations and ongoing training for field employees
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and assist with corrective action plans
• Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety documentation
• Monitor proper use of PPE, fall protection, and roofing safety systems
• Maintain OSHA logs, training records, and compliance reports
• Partner with project managers and field supervisors to proactively address safety concerns
• Promote a positive, safety-first culture throughout the organization

Qualifications

• Previous safety experience in commercial roofing, construction, or industrial environments preferred
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, especially fall protection standards
• OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications are a plus
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to work both in the field and office environments
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local job sites
