RLM Underground is seeking a motivated Estimator to support our bidding and proposal efforts for telecom construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in underground utility or telecom construction. We will train the right candidate who brings strong organization, curiosity, and a willingness to grow. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and submitting bids and proposals for telecom construction projects
• Review bid documents, basic drawings, and project specifications to help determine scope and requirements
• Support the development of cost estimates for OSP utility construction work
• Gather pricing information from vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Help maintain the bid calendar and ensure required documents are completed on time
• Track bid results and assist with post-bid documentation
• Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and senior estimators to learn pricing, production rates, and construction methods
• Support the continuous improvement of estimating templates, processes, and documentation

Requirements

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years of experience in estimating, construction, telecom, utilities, or a related field (internships or field experience a plus)
• Interest in learning underground utility construction methods and cost drivers
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read or willingness to learn how to read construction drawings and basic technical documents
• Proficiency with Google Docs and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, solution-focused mindset and willingness to ask questions
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
