Position Summary

Dance Instructor will work with school director to schedule days of the week to teach and engage with children and adults in various forms of dance. Classes are planned to be between 2pm and 8pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays.

Essential Functions

• Provide classes / lessons for all ages (children and adults)
• Teach lessons using various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
• Develop dance curriculums and prepare lesson plans.
• Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
• Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement.
• Choreograph routines and select music for recitals and concerts.
• Conduct group and private lessons as required.
• Preparing students for public recitals

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.  Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.  Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Preferred AA or BA Degree in Dance
• Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).
• Criminal background check is required with certification for Protecting the Mission policies and procedures
