We are seeking a 2nd Shift Robotic Welding Operator for our Smyrna, Tennessee Plant.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift: 2nd 3:30pm  - 11:30pm 

Position Summary:

We are looking for motivated individuals interested in coming to work on time and working hard. Responsibilities and pay will increase with experience. Self-starter, the ability to work with others, punctuality, a must. 

Responsibilites:

Primary responsibilities would include, but are not limited to the set-up, maintenance, and operation of robotic welding equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication of metallic parts or assemblies through welding by the means of a robotic machine. May also be responsible for programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting welding robots, and implementing robotic welding into production. Additionally, you will:

  • Ability to select and change tools per SOP.
  • Apply principles of basic welding fundamentals, understand AWS symbols and blueprints.
  • Visual inspection of parts to confirm correct weld path
  • Identify and select correct robotic welding parameters, welding procedures, operations, and programs.
  • Create robotic welding programs, modify existing welding programs, and conduct welding cell cycle time calculations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of robotic equipment and welding equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills.
  • Knowledgeable of automation equipment, processes, and systems
  • Interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Adapt to technology changes quickly and seamlessly.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity in extremities to open and close clamps, grab onto parts and push buttons.
  • Basic computer skills, e-mail, excel and time keeping systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • High school or equivalent (Required) with classes in Robotics and/or Welding at the Junior College level.
  • Certificate in Welding, Metals Fabrication or Machining and/or an associate’s degree in Welding or Robotics. (Preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Be able to work in a loud, noisy, and congested environment. May be expose to extreme temperatures hot and cold and dusty areas, work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions, proper protective clothing is required to protect against extreme temperature conditions. Smoke from Welding Robot could be present. Eye, Ear and burn protection will be required for this position.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job without  reasonable accommodation as you will frequently walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect, position, grasp or squeeze, stoop, kneel, crunch or crow, climb, talk/hear to communicate, detect, converse with discern, convey, exchange information; see to detect, distinguish, identify, inspect, estimate. Perform frequent repetitive movement, lifting, pushing, and pulling; up to 70 lbs., drive vehicles and operate equipment. This position requires assistance from coworkers when handling heavier items since Load pallets and skids may be up to 35-feet long and weight up to 200 lbs. Must wear required hearing and/or eye protection.
