Position Summary:

Responsible for providing housekeeping services to provide a sparkling clean, hygienic and safe environment that is patient and family centered.  Routinely cleans patient’s rooms in a timely manner after discharge of patients.  Also may clean nursing units, surgical areas, offices, laboratory areas, waiting areas, public restrooms and other areas as assigned.  Responsible for providing linen services throughout the facility.  Monitors the facility with a critical eye to catch those items that need cleaning and attention. Uses cleaning supplies and equipment as regulated to provide a safe cleaning environment. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Cleans offices, patient rooms, offices, classrooms, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas and any other areas that may require attention.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes floors and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.

Cleans light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings.

Will be required to properly and safely use cleaning chemicals per given standards.

Empties trash and garbage containers.

May change sheets and replenish linens.

Replenishes supplies.

Moves furniture and sets-up tables and chairs in a safe manner.

Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.

Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.  

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Picks up papers in halls and does not pass an opportunity to escalate items that needs attention.

Projects a positive approach to work and others.

Practices AIDET at all times.

Escalates any situation that needs attention whether patient, co-worker for facility environment.

Other duties as assigned that are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
