Description
Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY (HOACNY), voted one of Central New York’s Best Places to Work, is looking for a full time Registered Nurse to join our professional team. HOACNY provides cancer care services, Monday through Friday, at three convenient locations in East Syracuse, Camillus and Auburn. Registered Nurse (RN) Starting salary is based on experience - Bonuses/Stipends as well as a generous benefits package including medical, dental, life, std, ltd, 401k/pension, tuition reimbursement, convenient, free parking, etc.
Provides professional nursing care for Hematology-Oncology Associates' patients following established standards and practices. Utilizes the nursing process, direction from clinicians within the scope of nursing practice.
Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition in the EMR.
Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preference are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients.
Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
Arranges for patient home care and hospice care, testing and admission as necessary.
Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Follows triage algorithms when applicable.
Recognize normal and abnormal laboratory findings and the pathology involved.
Documents and maintains the above information in patients charts.
Other duties as requested.

Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Experience: Professional nursing experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
Certificate/License: Possession of a New York State Registered Nurse license.
