Job Description
Job Summary:
Joe Lunghamer Chevrolet Inc., a leading automotive dealership in Waterford Township, Michigan, is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Chevrolet Technician Apprentice. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry that offers competitive compensation and benefits. As a Chevrolet Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and servicing of Chevrolet vehicles in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for cars and a strong technical aptitude. State of Michigan Technician's License is required (or ASE equivalent). Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $24 per hour based on experience and qualifications. There is at least 5 hours of overtime available per week as well. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and employee discounts on vehicles and services.
-We are looking for apprentices willing to work with General Motors Certified Master Technicians as well as Lube, Oil and Filter employees willing to take on a career in automotive repair. We promote from within in first and foremost!
-We will be looking to fill a Mobile Technician role by the end of the year as well and being a high performing, reliable, dedicated automotive professional will give you a great opportunity for this position. It will pay $50,000 to $60,000 a year to start. Again, we promote from within first and foremost!
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on Chevrolet vehicles (other makes and models at times), including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Visually inspect vehicles for leaks of any kind, belts, brakes, air/cabin filters, wiper blades, etc.
- Communicate with precise and exact language to service advisors to provide updates on vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Keep track of service schedules and maintain accurate service records
- Stay up-to-date with technological advancements and training on new Chevrolet models
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations in the workplace
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic (or value: Duty, Punctuality, Honesty, Respect, Teamwork, Willingness to Learn).
- ASE certification or State of Michigan Repair License (in at least two categories).
- Knowledge of Chevrolet vehicles and their systems are a plus
- Strong technical and diagnostic abilities
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
