Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

CTBC Bank is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our team in Los Angeles. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions within the banking industry. The ideal candidate will support the HR department in daily operations and contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems. This position will spend 50% of the time learning about the HR functions and building a strong foundation for a career in HR. The other 50% will be spent towards utilizing the skills and knowledge they have gained to accomplish tasks and goals assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including offer letter generation, background check screening, and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure all HR documentation such as I-9 and Handbooks are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with HR communications such as newsletters, announcements, etc. 
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed.
  • Coordinate bank wide intern networking events 
  • Conduct research on HR best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and assist with resolving HR-related issues.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Previous internship or work experience in an HR role.
  • Familiarity of labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience in leadership role and event planning or assistant roles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

COMPENSATION 

  • The base pay range for this position is USD $19/Hour - USD $20/Hour. Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
