Star Electric Company was founded on April 1, 1914. The company was established to do electrical installation work as Pittsburgh began to change over from gas to electric lighting. The company's original slogan was "Everything electrical". Star Electric Company performs all phases of electrical system work including design, installation, construction and procurement of new, renovation and retrofit projects. We also perform routine and preventative maintenance and emergency services. Star Electric operates in the following markets: medical, commercial, design build, industrial, education, residential, hotel, assisted living, retail and entertainment markets. Star Electric has completed electrical contracts for projects ranging from banks to complete metalworking mills to hospital to a zirconium plant. Within such projects, Star Electric's capability covers the whole range of electrical contracting: low and high voltage power and lighting systems, communications wiring (telephone, video and data networks), motors and controls, instrumentation, generators, substations and lightning protection.
