Summary
Maintenance Worker, under the general supervision of the Foreman, performs maintenance of park landscaping and general park maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assists the Horticulture Crew Lead in the proper maintenance of landscaped areas

• Inspects, repairs, and maintains playground fixtures, signage, pavilions, trash cans and other park amenities

• Occasionally spray herbicides or apply fertilizer under direct supervision of a licensed applicator

• Assists with preparation of special events to include set-up, staging, and clean-up

• Performs and documents regular vehicle and equipment inspections

• Completes and submits required paperwork in Maint Trac

• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent

• One (1) year of experience in landscaping, horticulture, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in landscape/horticulture field

• Prior experience operating basic landscaping equipment including truck, trailer, pruning and power equipment

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid driver’s license
