Job Description

Job Summary:

The detailer plays a key support role in ensuring dealership vehicles are prepared, presentable, and ready for customer delivery. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including cleaning and detailing vehicles, transporting vehicles between lots or service areas, fueling vehicles, and assisting with general dealership needs. The Make Ready Specialist is a flexible “jack of all trades” who helps maintain smooth dealership operations by jumping in wherever needed to support the sales and service teams.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge in exterior and interior cleaning.
  • Knowledge in stain removal.
  • Maintaining a supply of cleaning products and tools, ordering new supplies as needed.
  • Transporting vehicles to and from lots, service, gas stations, or other dealership locations.
  • Assisting with lot organization and vehicle placement.
  • Ensuring vehicles are fueled and ready for customer delivery or test drives.
  • Supporting general dealership tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, stopping, twisting, and kneeling.
  •  Must be able to safely operate dealership vehicles, including standard and automatic transmissions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
