Job Summary: 

The Receiving clerk is responsible for receiving material, examining for accuracy, and disbursing and/or stocking to designated/assigned location. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Performs visual inspection and receipt of all in-coming material and compares with invoices/orders to verify accuracy.
  • Off loads material.
  • Assigns LRB to all in-coming materials.
  • Delivers or routes materials to designated location using handtruck, forklift, or manually.
  • Physically stocks material into appropriate location.
  • Requisitions and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Logs carrier issues and reports them to Logistics personnel to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
  • Informs manager of any issues or problems.

 Additional Responsibilities: 

Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

 Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, and completion of training. 
  • Proficient in typing, computer skills, ERP Systems, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and RF Scanning.
  • Communication Skills- Active Listening and Verbal Communication.
  • Ability to ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress, using both hands and feet.
  • Ability to time one’s movement or movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in speed and/or direction of a moving object.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
  • Ability to work a consistent schedule.
  • Ability to move freight, stock, or other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  • Visual acuity to examine or inspect material.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lifting and/or moving spools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lifting and/or moving freight weighing up to 125 lbs.
  • Sharp vision required.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to high.

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

 Experience:

  • At least 1 years’ experience related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
