We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. In this role, you will ensure an efficient and positive check-in and check-out experience, assist with scheduling, and support office operations.
Check-In Duties:
Greet and register patients, verifying and updating demographic, billing, and insurance information.
Collect co-pays and confirm necessary documentation (e.g., reports, X-rays, MRI, PT information) is on file.
Communicate expected wait times to patients.
Notify physicians of cancellations or no-shows.
Direct patients to account representatives as needed for payment discussions.
Check-Out Duties:
Verify route slips are complete and accurate; follow up with clinical staff as needed.
Collect patient balances and co-pays.
Schedule follow-up appointments.
Direct patients to the account representative for billing inquiries when necessary.
General Office Duties:
Distribute courier bags to appropriate staff daily.
Fax Workers’ Compensation forms to insurance adjusters.
Report missed post-op visits to physicians and coordinators.
Enter insurance referrals into the system.
Retrieve medical records and reports from hospitals, surgical centers, or other offices.
Send and document appointment reminder cards for no-shows.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the NHOC team.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Previous customer service experience preferred.
Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
Prior medical office experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to sit for long periods.
Occasional lifting of files and paperwork.
