Department: Admissions
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, part time, $15/hr.
Position: Admissions Senior Intern
Supervisor: Admissions Staff, Co-Coordinators of the Senior Intern Program
Position Purpose: We strive to recruit and select a diverse and talented class of students that will thrive at Union. To support that goal, senior interns will connect with audiences through interviews, information sessions and additional admissions events. This position is supported by an admission team dedicated to mentorship and professional development. This position will be based on the Union College campus and is open to Union College seniors for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Interview prospective students and applicants to Union College. Tell the Union story and answer questions in line with admissions messaging. Provide written feedback to the admissions evaluation team.
Lead/co-lead information sessions for groups of prospective students and their families.
Assist with additional recruitment tasks, which may include representing Union at college fairs, virtual events and on-campus open houses, as well as written and verbal outreach to prospective students, families, and counselors.
Expectations:
Candidates must be an enrolled Union College senior during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Knowledge of and experience with Union’s diverse academic, residential and social life plus the desire to share the Union story
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends — the average workload is 8-10 hours per week at the busiest times and 2-4 hours per week in slower months
Strong organizational skills and exceptional interpersonal skills, including public speaking
Ability to exercise good judgment, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of internal and external situations
Union GPA of 3.0 or above
