Job Description

Strategic Sourcing is responsible for purchasing and logistics on all tangible material and software buys for all business segments at Leidos. Strategic Sourcing is looking for highly motivated Strategic Sourcing Buyer Interns for the summer of 2026, where Interns will learn about Leidos’ buying and logistics operations. Interns will receive introductions throughout the Strategic Sourcing organization and be exposed to training and real-life examples of supply chain work at Leidos. Throughout the summer, Interns will learn about procurement and supply chain through hands on experience by placing orders and working as part of the buying team. At the end of the summer, Interns will be asked to evaluate personal training and experiences during the program. Interns will make recommendations for how to improve sourcing and reduce costs in the supply chain. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Learn the basics of purchasing in a federal government approved purchasing system.

  • Attend meetings with stakeholders to identify supply chain sources.

  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders to identify supply chain sources to diversify supplier portfolio.

  • Work with team to develop implementation plan for presentation to senior management.

  • Execute implementation plan to extent feasible during summer timeline.

  • Make follow-on recommendations for long term sourcing success.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working towards bachelor’s degree relating to Supply Chain, Sourcing, Analytics, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Proficient in written and oral communication.

  • Ability to work in a group environment.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data analysis or supply chain validation capabilities preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $41,600.00 - $75,200.00
