Job Description

Pay: $25.00

NATURE OF WORK:

The Family Specialist serves as the primary support for Resource Parents, youth, and families and functions as Medicaid Treatment Planning and Discharge Planning staff under the 29-I Health Facilities License. Responsible for coordinating all casework and rehabilitative services in collaboration with the Local Department of Social Services (LDSS), ensuring the exchange of health information, and supporting treatment and discharge planning. Provides advocacy and coordination with community agencies, schools, and service providers to promote stability, permanency, and well-being for youth and families. Position is based in Corning, NY with travel to Rochester, NY required. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or related human service field is required.  Experience may substitute for field of study but not for minimum degree requirement.  Advanced degrees preferred.
  • A minimum of one year experience providing services to children with serious emotional disturbances and their families is required.
  • Must meet the requirements of the School Age Care, Day Care, and/or Mental Health Regulations regarding a State Central Register Clearance regarding history of abuse/maltreatment of children, and Staff Exclusion List.
