About New Oaks Academy

New Oaks Academy (NOA) is a licensed private school within Belmont Behavioral Health System, serving students with intensive academic and behavioral needs in an inpatient setting. Our dual service model provides a supportive, standards-aligned education in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. We prioritize compassion, structure, and growth, recognizing that healing and learning go hand in hand.

Position Summary

We are seeking passionate, collaborative, and student-centered Teachers across multiple content areas to join our expanding team. Teachers at NOA deliver individualized, standards-based instruction while actively supporting students’ social-emotional and behavioral growth. They play a central role in maintaining IEP compliance, engaging students through experiential learning, and building a safe, structured classroom environment.


Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Planning

  • Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons using the Gradual Release of Responsibility model.
  • Assess and track academic progress regularly; provide timely, actionable feedback.
  • Support IEP development, documentation, and compliance in partnership with the Special Education Team.
  • Integrate therapeutic and academic strategies to meet each student's unique needs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or related field
  • Active Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in Content Area of Need (or willingness to pursue if eligible)

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching students with diverse learning needs (1+ year preferred)
  • Familiarity with special education laws and IEP processes
  • Strong communication, organization, and reflective practice skills
