ABOUT THE ROLE

Conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical/electronic, environmental, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation and new installations. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of the plant. 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill set of the industrial electrical field including, but not limited to: understanding of electrical units of measure, AC/DC voltage characteristics, understanding of basic circuits, ability to check voltage, current, and amperage, and ability to interpret wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of plant operations including, but not limited to: safety lockout procedures, equipment interlocks, process and material flow, HAC numbering system, functions of major equipment
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for industrial electrical equipment
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of hand tool usage & safety
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction/motivation
  • Willing to work weekends, night shifts, and call-outs, as needed
  • Able to procure required tools for the position within three months of job transfer
  • Must be able to successfully pass the prerequisite electrical examination
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education:  High School diploma/GED

Additional Education Preferred: Associate’s/Technical degree in an electrical or a related field

Required Work Experience:  1 -3 years of electrical in a manufacturing environment

Required Technical Skills:  Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirements:  Local travel

Additional Requirements

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance background; welding experience desired
  • Autonomous, meticulous, exercises good judgment
  • Ability to work well on their own and in a team environment
  • Experience in the operation of heavy equipment
  • The candidate must be flexible regarding his/her work schedule
  • Knowledge of cement, the construction industry and integrated computer systems an asset.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
