ABOUT THE ROLE

Duro-Last Roofing, the world’s largest manufacturer of prefabricated roofing systems, has an opening for a Shipper at the company’s Kernersville, North Carolina, location. The Shipper's primary goal is to ship high-quality products, free of defects, and also to fulfill customers’ needs and expectations. This is a full-time, hourly based position with an additional potential safety bonus. The position will report to the Plant Supervisor.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Ability to read and interpret Bill of Lading
  • Verify manufactured goods are correct before packaging and follow all packaging standard operator procedures
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of parts prior to shipments leaving
  • Operate various types of material handling equipment, including a forklift, hi-low, and pallet jack
  • Must be comfortable learning and using a pick, pack, and ship software program to process and manage daily orders.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled Company meetings, including all plant, production, and safety meetings
  • Keep work area clean and neat to ensure there are no safety hazards and that the area is presentable for guests
  • Meeting all safety and quality expectations set forth by the plant
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to work in a team and have the initiative to get the job done
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Bend, push, carry, lift up to 50 pounds
  • Available to work up to a 12-hour shift and weekends when necessary
  • Previous manufacturing experience is highly desired
  • Extensive forklift experience preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
