Summary/Job Scope:

Conduct day-to-day quality control of concrete through testing of products by performing the following duties. Includes the following: other duties may be assigned as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and maintain fresh concrete testing records. Testing includes:  Slump, Air Content, Temperature, Unit Weight and Yield, and calculation of Water Cement Ratio. 
  • Test fine and coarse aggregates for size and cleanliness at plants on a weekly basis.  Testing will be conducted at batch Plant facilities, as well as Project locations.  Conduct project or mix specific testing as necessary. 
  • Conduct aggregate testing and maintain records.  Perform weekly testing of aggregates, moisture, cleanliness, gradation and visual comparison.  Carry out additional moisture monitoring as necessary.
  • Test services for wall contractors and maintain records.
  • Job services include helping contractors on large pours, coordinating trucks, casting cylinder, mixing loads when asked to do so and any other tasks needed to ensure job goes smoothly.
  • Visit residential contractors to field test and address any concerns.
  • Assist with customer service-related product performance issues as coordinated with technical services manager.
  • Assist with job-site monitoring and/or coordination.
  • Assist with trial mixes, and/or product tests including Mix verifications, lab trials and R&D trails.  Lab duties may include logging cylinders, breaking cylinders and entering data.
  • Maintain company issued equipment and assist in lab maintenance. 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma plus some education in science, business, engineering, or related fields
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems, using written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Salary Range: $20.00-$25.00/hr
