Job Description

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Assists Facility Operation Manager with planning organizing and directing the operation and personnel. Provides customer service in a timely and accurate manner to increase customer satisfaction, maintain the reputation and profitability of the organization. Operates and maintains facility equipment and machinery in a safe, efficient, and economical way. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Reviews customer blending and delivery tickets for accuracy and schedules product batching sequences 

Operates facility loading and unloading equipment, mixing equipment, and other machinery 

Coordinates work activities of location employees 

Performs equipment and machinery preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting, maintenance, and cleaning tasks 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Trains / serves as a back-up to the Facility Operation Manager 

Trains new Custom Applicators and serves as back-up custom applicator as needed  

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts. 

Responsible for maintaining the assigned equipment according to company standards, adheres to the uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image. 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. 

Performs all other duties as assigned. 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 1 or more years of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of fertilizer facility and equipment operations. 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. 

Prefer a general understanding of GROWMARK agronomy facility operations. 

Must obtain/have and maintain a valid CDL driver’s license with applicable endorsements, a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to work extended hours during peak production times.  

Must obtain/have and maintain a valid Commercial Applicator’s core license with applicable weed, insect, and disease certifications. 

Frequently or continuously exposed or required to work in conditions that may include: 

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.) 

  • Noisy conditions 

  • May include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures 

  • May be required to work at varying heights  

  • Confined spaces 

  • Lifting 51-70 lbs  

Demonstrates the ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
