Summary

SRP is seeking a motivated College Intern to support our teams while gaining hands‑on experience in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment. This internship offers students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real‑world projects that support SRP’s commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable water and power services. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful work, and develop technical and professional skills relevant to their field of study. The role is designed to foster learning, teamwork, and innovation while providing exposure to SRP’s operations and culture. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are eager to learn, grow, and make an impact while exploring a future career with SRP. 

The Research Archives and Heritage intern position is intended to cultivate expertise in the practical application of history within a professional setting. Intern will work directly with senior historical analysts to gain broad exposure into different applications and projects, including archival operations, historical research, oral history interviews, and content development

What You'll Do

•            Supports processing new assets into the archival collection according to procedure

•            Conducts research leveraging a variety of internal and external resources

•            Assists in oral history projects by providing preliminary research and participating in interviews

•            Participates in meetings and projects involving internal stakeholders and community partners

•            Creates professional, research-supported analysis in written and verbal formats

•            Develops and manages accurate inventories in support of collections management

Education

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

Skills:

•            Skill in verbal and written communication and following instructions

•            Skills in organization, attention to detail, and task management

•            Ability to identify and implement creative solutions to solve challenges or improve processes

Preferred qualifications:

•            Experience or coursework in history, public history, library and information sciences, or related field

•            Interest in archival or public history work, Arizona history, and collections management

•            Experience with research and analysis

•            Experience conducting oral history interviews

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
