Job Description

Nurse

About Us

At Hotze Health & Wellness Center, we believe people deserve a personalized path to better health and vitality. We are a cash-based practice, which allows us to focus on each individual's needs rather than the restrictions of insurance requirements. Our approach emphasizes natural, restorative solutions that help people regain energy, balance, and quality of life-without unnecessary reliance on pharmaceutical drugs.

We refer to the people we serve as guests rather than patients. This is intentional: we want the experience here to feel welcoming, respectful, and comfortable-more like being cared for in a hospitality setting than a conventional medical office.

Position Overview

The Nurse plays a key role in delivering both excellent nursing care and an exceptional service experience. This role blends clinical expertise with compassionate communication, helping guests feel supported and informed throughout their wellness journey.

In addition to hands-on care such as IV therapy, injections, and phlebotomy, a large portion of this role involves providing education and guidance-whether in person, over the phone, or through electronic communication.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent nursing care with a service-oriented mindset
  • Take written and verbal orders, accurately transcribing and formatting them into the EMR to ensure medication lists and notes are maintained
  • Educate and counsel guests on their treatment plans and ensure understanding of recommended services
  • Communicate with guests in person, over the phone, or through electronic communication for ongoing support and guidance
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and current medications/supplements
  • Perform blood draws, injections, and IV therapy (including solution preparation, administration, and monitoring)
  • Teach self-injection protocols
  • Conduct EKGs and spirometry testing
  • Accurately fax or call in prescriptions
  • Review lab results and explain treatment recommendations to guests
  • Use the electronic medical records system (eClinicalWorks) accurately and efficiently
  • Apply critical thinking and standing orders to troubleshoot guest symptoms and concerns
  • Support the medical team with administrative tasks as needed

(This list outlines the general responsibilities of the role but is not exhaustive.)

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Texas
  • Current CPR certification (BLS certification course provided annually on-site)
  • Strong phlebotomy and IV skills (training available for the right candidate)
  • Interest in natural health and willingness to continually learn about our treatment programs
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization abilities
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive
  • Positive, professional, and committed to continuous growth

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with accuracy
  • Proficiency in using computers, EMRs, and other healthcare-related technology
  • Adequate vision to read medical records and digital monitors
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs throughout the day
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods
