Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician Assists the physician in the procedure room according to established guidelines Addresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting Identifies the patient and correct procedure according to policy and procedure and communicates with all members of the medical team Provides comfort, reassurance to patient and maintains patient’s privacy and dignity                 L.  Explains procedures and care to the patient                 M. Provides continuity of patient care by communicating with other perioperative care                     personnel and documenting records accordingly                 N.  Performs with competence in emergency situations                 O.  Ability to check in patients if receptionist is absent                 P. Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure                 Q. Maintains up to date/accurate records for reprocessing equipment per regulatory guidelines R.
