Description of the Position:
The Recreation Equipment Technician is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, and inventory management of fitness and recreation equipment within campus recreation facilities. This position is paramount for ensuring equipment safety, functionality, and longevity to support effective facility operations.
Transferable Skills:
Candidates will develop technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, inventory management experience, and independent problem-solving abilities. Additionally, candidates will strengthen communication skills through reporting maintenance needs and coordinating repairs.

Physical and Environmental Factors:
This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, chemicals, vibrations, and proximity hazards, as well as rare exposure to respiratory factors, wet or humid conditions indoors, extreme heat, and heights or cramped quarters. Protective equipment is required to perform some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
