A postdoctoral associate position is immediately available at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Surgery, Pediatric Surgery Division.  

We are seeking a qualified applicant with a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree in a biomedical field with 0-2 years of post-doctoral experience to work under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Carolina Pinzon-Guzman. Relevant knowledge and skills include knowledge in the biology of extracellular vesicles, basic immunology, cell and molecular biology, experience in cell culture and biological imaging, and computer abilities.  

The successful Candidate will engage in intensive, mentored research as part of multidisciplinary teams in pediatric surgery and basic science, while developing increasing scientific independence. Responsibilities include contributing to the training and mentorship of students and laboratory personnel and supporting ongoing research activities as directed by the principal investigator. The position requires demonstrated scholarly productivity through the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for peer‑reviewed journals and scientific conferences.
