Are you passionate about storytelling, creativity, and making a real impact in your community? At Helping Hand, we're looking for a Marketing and Outreach Intern for Summer 2026, who's ready to bring fresh ideas, amplify meaningful work, and grow their skills in a mission-driven environment.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position.
  • Approximately 20 hours in-office per week, Monday/Wednesday 9am-5pm and Thursday 10am-2pm.
  • Availability for up to 6 additional hours dedicated to outreach activities outside of normal in-office days.
  • If outreach opportunities are not available for any particular week, an additional 6 hours of work would be available on Tuesday's from 9am-3pm.
  • Salary $20.50/hr. (hourly/non-exempt).

  • Create and design content for social media and agency campaigns.
  • Explore and implement new marketing trends.

  • Support community outreach and volunteer events.
  • Collaborate on projects that highlight the impact of our work.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING:

Education:

  • Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Communications, Non-Profit Management, HR, Marketing, etc.).

Skill Sets:

  • Must be able to maintain appropriate confidentiality and integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from Helping Hand and other various events (when needed).
  • Must have a valid driver's license with ongoing personal motor vehicle insurance.
  • Flexibility to work in various settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize the needs of the agency.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • A proactive team-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn.
  • Creative thinking skills with a passion for storytelling and social impact.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.
  • A commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
  • Ability to attend team and agency meetings as required by the position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment includes both in-office responsibilities as well as community outreach activities, which may include both indoor and outdoor venues.
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Consistently position oneself to maintain files in cabinets or assist others.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.
