Position Summary:

Merchants Metals is seeking a highly skilled PVC Router Operator to join our Des Moines team. This role is essential to the fabrication of PVC fencing components using our newly installed PVC Router machine. As this equipment is new to the location, only candidates with proven experience operating PVC Routers or similar CNC machinery will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the PVC Router machine to fabricate PVC fencing components with precision and efficiency.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders to set up and execute routing tasks.
• Configure machine settings, tooling, and materials for each production run.
• Perform quality checks on finished products and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain machine performance through routine checks and basic troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet daily output goals.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating a PVC Router or CNC routing machinery.
• Strong understanding of machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Familiarity with PVC materials and fabrication techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
