Join us.   Position Title: Manufacturing Engineering Intern   Location: Irvine CA   Work Arrangement: 100% On-site   Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support Manufacturing Engineering team to drive production readiness, manufacturing robustness, and continuous improvement for electro mechanical assemblies within DZYNE’s airborne systems manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with technicians, quality, and design engineering to mature products from prototype into stable, repeatable production builds under an AS9100 compliant QMS. You will own manufacturing documentation, tooling, test workflows, and hands on build support to ensure high quality, scalable production.   Required Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering team in build of UAS
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • General knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering technical information (e.g. drawings, handbooks, industry standards and specifications)
  • Experience with CAD software
  • An interest in aerospace and defense
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  •  Experience designing / building multi-copters, robots, RC planes
Education: 
  • Degree in process and typical experience in engineering classification; Bachelor of Science - Engineering degree preferred
  Clearance Level Required: No Clearance Required   Travel Required: Less than 10%   Working Conditions: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities.   Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
  • Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
  Work Authorization Requirement:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.   Hourly Rate: $27.00  Hourly rate depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. Established in 1973, Young Community Developers, Inc. (YCD) is a 50 year old 501c (3) community based organization that provides a variety of training and support opportunities for residents of the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco. Per year some eighteen hundred individuals (1,800) receive employment and training related services through YCD. The targeted population is among the hardest to serve. Over the years YCD has successfully operated both educational and employment based training opportunities for residents of the Southeast Sector.
