ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, TASKS:
Overview:
The Summer Intern will assist with the monthly close activities supporting the team’s goal of ensuring the integrity of the division’s financial data by recording, verifying, and reconciling financial data. Including assisting in financial statement preparation, GL accounting as well as verifying data alignment across our financial systems.
Primary Activities for the Role:
• Participate in the monthly and quarterly close processes, including the consolidation and preparation of divisional financial statement schedules.
• Review of certain balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
• Assist finance team with design and testing of process changes tied to an increased reliance on our internal system capabilities, such as the Business Intelligence Tool and Oracle Planning.
• Assist with data alignment across financial systems (data reconciliation, manual uploads, etc.)
• Ad Hoc requests as required
REQUIRED: KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
• College student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Understanding of general accounting (Journal entries, accruals and reconciliations) and financial statements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (Pivot tables, vlookups etc.)
• Organize assigned tasks and complete assignments timely & accurately
• High attention to detail, excels as a team player and has a strong work ethic
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
