Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): To provide general office support and perform clerical duties in the TRIO Educational Talent Search office during the summer.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist St. Olaf TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS) staff with paperwork job requests such as filing and photocopying

  • Make phone calls to program graduates and document post-secondary status

  • Revise documents, summarize annual evaluations, and complete various typing tasks

  • Conduct curriculum transcript audit for up to 100 recent program graduates alongside guidance from Administrative Assistant and St. Olaf TRIO ETS staff

  • Create and update student folders for 700 program students

  • Assemble program mailings, student curriculum, and other items as needed

  • Provide general office support


Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Clerical skills such as filing, answering phones, revising documents, and database entry

  • Experience with general computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite) and Apple computers

  • Must be responsible and able to work independently, if necessary

  • Must be consistent and able to work regularly scheduled hours

  • Must be able to undertake multiple-step tasks and communicate need for additional instructions or clarification


Additional Comments:

  • The hours worked will be approximately 24-30 hours per week, Monday-Friday.  

  • St. Olaf TRIO ETS will be somewhat flexible on the specific working hours, based on whether the student worker is taking classes on campus.  The Administrative Assistant who this person reports into work 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday-Thursday, remote Fridays.


  • This job will run from the end of May until the beginning of September
