The Matrix Sciences Agriculture lab in our South Dakota location performs testing for pesticide residues, vet drugs, minerals, and proximate in a variety of sample types, as well as in support or our clients; environmental monitoring programs.

Role summary: 

The Seasonal Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory support responsibilities in a fast-paced production environment; routine testing of food and environmental samples for qualitative and quantitative parameters.  This Seasonal, full time position will begin in June or July and extend through September or October. We have flexibility related to start and end dates.

What you’ll do:

• Perform analytical testing of feed, fertilizer, water and/or pesticide residue samples using laboratory techniques and standard operating procedures. 
• Perform and document routine laboratory maintenance tasks such basic equipment monitoring, waste disposal and cleaning (laboratory and labware). 
• Assist Lab Technicians in sample preparation and weighing of test items, as required. 
• Adhere to lab safety procedures and reporting standards.
• Follow written Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Other duties may be assigned to assist with the operations of the lab.
