Assistant Toddler Teacher Organization: Education Management Company (LMIS)
Location: Westchester County, NY
Reports To: Lead Toddler Teacher / School Administrator

Position Summary

An Education Management Company (LMIS) is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Toddler Teacher to support the developmental needs of children ages 18 months to 3 years. The ideal candidate is patient, nurturing, and excited to help young children learn through hands-on exploration in a supportive early childhood environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing daily curriculum and activities.

  • Supervise and engage toddlers in developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

  • Support routines including feeding, diapering, and toilet training while maintaining proper hygiene.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in compliance with licensing standards.

  • Observe children and communicate relevant updates to the Lead Teacher.

  • Promote a calm, positive, and respectful environment for all children.

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent care and communication.

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies and procedures.

Desired Experience

  • One year of experience working with toddlers or in a licensed childcare environment preferred.

  • Basic understanding of early childhood development or interest in learning Montessori-based practices.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and participate actively in classroom and outdoor activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • CDA credential or Early Childhood coursework preferred but not required.

  • Must pass all required state background checks and fingerprinting.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction while working as part of a team.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $16.50 to $19.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
