McKenney Home Care is a family-owned, private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County for over a decade. We are seeking dependable, compassionate caregivers who are committed to providing high-quality, one-on-one care in the home. Caregivers of all experience levels are welcome to apply.

Flexible SchedulingWe offer a variety of shift options to fit your availability, examples:

•  Morning shifts: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM 
•  Short or split shifts: 2–3 hours (AM or PM) 
•  Standard shifts: 4–6 hours 
•  Extended shifts: 7–12 hours (day or overnight) 
•  12-hour day and overnight shifts are widely available 

Private duty schedules vary based on client needs, allowing for both flexibility and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

•  Provide one-on-one care that helps clients feel safe, comfortable, and supported in their own homes 
•  Build meaningful relationships through companionship, conversation, and emotional support 
•  Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and safe mobility 
•  Prepare meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration 
•  Support clients with memory care needs, including those with dementia 
•  Maintain a clean and comfortable environment with light housekeeping and laundry 
•  Provide medication reminders (no administration required) 
•  Observe and report any changes in client condition to the office 
•  Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner 
•  Communicate proactively with the office and care team regarding schedule or client updates 

Qualifications

•  Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation 
•  Second form of ID (Social Security card or passport) 
•  Hands-on CPR certification (or willingness to obtain; class available through our office $50) 
•  Skin or Lab work TB test within the last 6 months or chest X-ray within the last 5 years 
•  Level 2 AHCA background screening (or willingness to complete) https://info.flclearinghouse.com
•  Strong communication skills, professionalism, and consistent reliability and attendance
