Overview

Vitality Hospice & Palliative Care is hiring a Business Development Representative to support referral growth and build strong partnerships across the local healthcare community.

This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to start or grow a career in healthcare sales, hospice, or medical marketing. No prior hospice sales experience required—we provide training and ongoing support.

Who This Role Is For

  • Entry-level candidates interested in healthcare sales or marketing
  • Professionals from senior living, assisted living, SNFs, home health, or medical offices

What You’ll Do

Build & Maintain Referral Relationships

  • Develop partnerships with:
    • Assisted Living & Independent Living communities
    • Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)
    • Hospitals and discharge planners
    • Physician offices and specialty clinics
  • Conduct daily in-person visits (6–8 per day once trained)
  • Manage a portfolio of 20–30 accounts within your territory

Drive Referral Growth

  • Follow up weekly with referral sources
  • Schedule 8–10 referral meetings per week (post-training)
  • Identify and develop new referral partners (goal: 3+ per month)

Support Patient Access

  • Respond to referral inquiries same day
  • Collaborate with clinical teams for smooth transitions of care
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant communication

Community Outreach & Engagement

  • Deliver in-services and educational presentations (4+ per month)
  • Coordinate appreciation events and engagement activities (6–8 per month)
  • Attend networking events and represent the organization

Track & Report Activity

  • Document visits, meetings, and outcomes in CRM daily
  • Monitor referral trends and adjust outreach strategy
  • Support marketing campaigns and track results

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, customer service, sales, or account management preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based, territory role
  • Ability to manage local travel and meet activity goals
  • Interest in building a long-term career in healthcare sales

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience in hospice, home health, or healthcare marketing
  • Existing relationships in the local healthcare market

Vitality Hospice

At Vitality Hospice and Palliative Care we provide symptom management to those with advanced illness. We focus on the total unit of care, supporting both patients and their caregivers through the duration of care. Hospice services are provided primarily at the patient's residence by an interdisciplinary group (IDG) of professionals and volunteers. Hospice services are available both on a scheduled, and as needed basis, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Medical supplies, equipment, and medications prescribed for the relief of pain and symptoms related to the terminal illness and related conditions are provided as determined by the interdisciplinary group.
