POSITION:  Utility Central Stores/Receiving/Shipping SHIFT:  1st

LABOR GRADE:  5 HOURS:  7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

DEPARTMENT:  94-1 NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 1

MINIMUM RATE:  $20.80 MAXIMUM RATE:  $22.15

                                    *2nd tier rate effective for all hires after 3/9/2014

DESCRIPTION:  The purpose of the Utility Central Stores/Receiving/Shipping is to fill, as needs dictate, for Material Handlers, Inventory Verifiers, Shipping Utilities, and Stores’ Zone Operators.  The principle tasks are:

1.      Operates CRT for various inquiry transactions as well as various material handing equipment such as fork trucks, order picker trucks, and pallet jacks, freight meters, scales, and wrapping/strapping equipment.

2.      Responsible for picking, packing, staging, loading, unloading, or locating all materials in all areas.  Responsible for proper identification, count accuracy, and location accuracy when picking or locating materials.

3.      Delivers required material to drop zones, production areas or load on trucks.   Responsible for operating CRT’s for maintenance of transaction file, adjustments and inquiry options.

4.      Provides material handling support for various production areas as assigned.   Responsible for timely delivery of materials.  Use judgment to plan and perform diversified work to insure efficient operation of department.

5.      Maintains a file of orders, completes required documentation and performs counts for issues of material.  Performs audits of locations.

6.      Must be familiar with and adhere to all safety rules of the department/plant.   Performs regular housekeeping duties to ensure a clean work area.

7.      Assigned daily by supervisor to perform any production job (direct or indirect) in any lower labor grade with duties in conformity with that job.
