Job Summary: The Buyer is responsible for executing the full procurement cycle for products and services supporting hospital operations. This role involves obtaining vendor quotations, reviewing purchase requisitions, creating purchase orders, and following up on outstanding orders. The position also monitors inventory levels, ensures appropriate reorder points, and reconciles discrepancies. The incumbent will maintain the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct while supporting the mission, vision, and values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all departmental supplies are maintained at appropriate par levels and accurately tracked.
  • Maintain detailed records of all items ordered and initiate purchase orders accordingly.
  • Verify that all required supplies, equipment, and services are ordered accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with the Materials Management team to ensure order accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track and verify estimated time of arrival (ETA) for all ordered supplies.
  • Collaborate with the Materials Management team to confirm deliveries meet order specifications.
  • Report backorders, shortages, or discrepancies to internal and external stakeholders promptly.
  • Assist the Materials Manager in maintaining accurate inventory levels and materials management processes.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and report irregularities to manager.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and act in the best interest of the organization.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance. 

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Required: 6-12 months of experience in a material, receiving, or related field.
  • Preferred:  6-12 months in hospital environment. 
  • Required: Meet all Employee Health Requirement
