Our 12-week paid internship program offers firsthand experience and meaningful projects that have an impact on our business. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that will expose you to various aspects of our industry.

Working alongside our Data Engineer team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada.  Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas: 

• Communications  

• Finance

• Accounting

• Human Resources 

• IT 

• Marketing & Merchandising 

• Supply Chain 

• Communications

Build a Career: 

In the Data Engineer department by:

• Analyzing department processes and other Gordon Food Service (GFS) systems encountered and makes recommendations, improvements, as appropriate. Participates in quality monitoring activities/process improvement activities.

• Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team member with others in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

• Will learn and use HashiCorp terraform and GCP products used by the team for data engineering - i.e. BigQuery, cloud run, firestore, google cloud storage, cloud scheduler, etc

• Will work on various tasks to get hands-on experience with Data Engineering and the Data Platform at GFS.

• Will have opportunities for improving data pipelines, automating processes, onboarding new data sources to the data lake, and working with business stakeholders to understand their needs and build solutions towards those needs.

Meet the following qualifications to be considered for our 2026 internship program: 

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Degree

• Must be authorized to work in the US.

• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
